When I came accross a picture of the Lasher ATH it immediately grabbed my attention. It ticks a great deal of boxes as a very adaptable bike which could provide a huge ammount of fun on the many miles of off road tracks and paths that we have around Scotland. It may not be as radical as a One Off titanium handbike but for the majority of forest trails and Land Rover tracks that we have it would be an ideal steed for those looking to get of the road for a little rough riding.
The Lasher ATH has been designed primarily as an off roader and fills a large gap in the handbike market which revolves mainly around road bikes. A lot of thought has gone into this bike and it is offered with a fine selection of optional custom extras to provide the rider with a the bike of their choice. It uses the standard upright sitting position with front wheel drive. This familiar upright position allows for better weight distribution over the drive wheel.

The design incorporates a generous 6" inches of ground clearance thanks to the use of 26" (559) mountain bike wheels. There is a range of wheel options available which includes the latest MTB wheel size of 29" inch, increasing ground clearance to 7.5" inches or you can fit a set of 650c road wheels for everyday running. The beauty of using 26" or the new 29r's is you have an incredible choice of ATB tyres. Hubs can have quick release wheelchair type axles or you can have threaded 1/2 inch axles.

Backrest angle is adjustable as is leg length. Frame geometry is specified at the ordering stage as is your choice of optional extras which include wheel upgrades, component upgrades there is a wide range of colours to choose from and there are a variety of add ons from bags to video cameras.

My thanks to Bill Lasher of Lashersports for sending the extra images and giving me more information about this magnificent bike. If you like me fancy one of these I'm sure Bill will be more than happy to answer your questions and help you select the ideal machine.
