Handbike Scotland Route finder.

If you know of a suitable hand bike route that you would like to share please let me know.

There are some truly excellent handbike routes around Scotland, chose carefully and you can find some quiet, traffic free routes that will provide you with stunning scenary and a real cycle challenge.

There are a number of routes mapped out for you on the GPSies.com website. All our routes are listed under HandbikeScotland to view simply click the link. The routes are viewable using a selection of mapping options, they can be printed out or can be downloaded directly into a GPS unit such as Garmin etc. Handbike Scotland encourages safe cycling, see our safety guideline below.

SAFETY.

As with any type of cycling activity safety while riding should always be a priority. The routes listed are simply descriptions of routes completed successfully on a handbike, THEY MAY BE UNSUITABLE FOR YOUR LEVEL OF DISABILTY OR FITNESS LEVEL so think carefully before attempting a route.

General safety tips.

BE SEEN.

  • Wear brightly coloured clothing.
  • Fit a flag to your handcycle.
  • Fit a flashing LED light to your rear camber bar.

BE PREPARED

  • For punctures, take a spare inner tube,tyre levers and a pump.
  • Take a waterproof jacket.
  • Take a mobile phone for emergencies.

BE WISE

  • Always wear a helmet.
  • Take food and drink on longer runs.
